In Search of Treasure

Dick Stout has been an active treasure hunter for over 35 years, and now resides in north central Texas.  In 1984, he founded and became the first president of The Federation of Metal Detector & Archeological Clubs, an organization that now represents over 150 clubs across the United States.  During his tenure he traveled extensively promoting the pastime, and represented both the hobbyist, and the metal detector manufacturer at congressional hearings in Washington, D.C.

Dick has written well over 150 articles for various treasure magazines, and is currently a contributing editor for Western and Eastern Treasure Magazine published by People’s Publishing in Sausalito, California.  His previous books, Metal Detecting The Hobby, and Coin Hunting in Depth (also published by White’s Electronics) continue to be best sellers.
